Mr. Jeffrey S. Olson, CPA, is Chairman of the Board of Trustee, Chief Executive Officer of Urban Edge Properties. He has served as our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since December 29, 2014 and has served as a Trustee since December 19, 2014. Mr. Olson served as chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors of Equity One, Inc. from 2006 until September 1, 2014, at which time Mr. Olson joined Vornado Realty Trust in order to work on the separation of the Company from Vornado. From 20062008, Mr. Olson also served as the president of Equity One. Prior to joining Equity One, he served as president of the Eastern and Western Regions of Kimco Realty Corporation from 2002 to 2006. Mr. Olson has a M.S. in Real Estate from The Johns Hopkins University, a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland and was previously a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Olsons qualifications to serve on our Board include his experience as chief executive officer of Equity One and general expertise in real estate operations, as well as his knowledge of the REIT industry developed as an analyst covering many U.S. REITs. Mr. Olson currently serves as an Executive Board Member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts . since 2014.

Elected by the shareholders, the Urban Edge's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Urban Edge inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Urban. The board's role is to monitor Urban Edge's management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served. Urban Edge's inside directors are responsible for reviewing and approving budgets prepared by upper management to implement core corporate initiatives and projects.
