Mr. Christopher H. Anderson is an Independent Director of Douglas Emmett, Inc. He has served as a member of our Board since 2011. He joined one of our predecessors in 1972 and cofounded our immediate predecessor in 1991, where he served in a number of senior positions, including Executive Vice President, until his retirement in 2006. Mr. Anderson also worked in the financial industry at White Weld Co. and Bank of America and was an officer in the United States Army. Mr. Anderson received his bachelor degree from Stanford University in 1964 since 2011.

Elected by the shareholders, the Douglas Emmett's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Douglas Emmett inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Douglas. The board's role is to monitor Douglas Emmett's management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served.
