Sir Paul Tucker is NonExecutive Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Swiss Re Ltd since April 22, 2016. He is a member of the Finance and Risk Committee and the Investment Committee. was the Deputy Governor of the Bank of England from 2009 to 2013. He held various senior roles at the Bank of England from 1980 onwards, including as a member of the Monetary Policy Committee, Financial Policy Committee, Prudential Regulatory Authority Board and Court of Directors. He also served as a member of the Steering Committee of the G20 Financial Stability Board and as a member of the Board of the Bank for International Settlements. In 2014, he was granted a knighthood for his services to central banking. He holds BA in Mathematics and Philosophy, Trinity College, Cambridge, United Kingdom. since 2016.

Elected by the shareholders, the Swiss Re's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Swiss Re inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Swiss.
