Hamish joined NZX in July 2013 and leads the corporate legal, policy and government relations team from Auckland and is NZXs Company Secretary. He has extensive experience in financial regulation and policy development work including with the UK Listing Authority, the body that regulates issuers listed on the London Stock Exchange. Before joining NZX, Hamish held legal roles in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom, most recently with a superannuation fund in Melbourne. since 2017.

NZX Limited Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the NZX's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: NZX inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of NZX. The board's role is to monitor NZX's management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served. NZX's inside directors are responsible for reviewing and approving budgets prepared by upper management to implement core corporate initiatives and projects.
