From 2007 till 2009, he has served as Swiss Representative of Financial Stability Board. From 2001 till 2009, he has served as Governor for Switzerland at International Monetary Fund. From 2001 till 2009, he has served as Chairman of the Governing Board of Swiss National Bank. He is Vice Chairman of Arab Bank Ltd., Member of the Board of Swatch Group AG, Member of the Board of MKS S.A. and Member of the Foundation of the Swiss Pontifical Guard, Vatican City, among others. since 2013.
