Mr. Stephen G. Newberry is Chairman of the Board of Lam Research Corporationrationration. Mr. Newberry has served as the Chairman of the Companys board since November 2012. He served as the Companys Vice Chairman from December 2010 to November 2012, Chief Executive Officer from June 2005 to January 2012 and President from July 1998 to December 2010. Mr. Newberry joined the Company in August 1997 as Executive Vice President, a role in which he served until July 1998, and Chief Operating Officer, a role in which he served until June 2005. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Newberry held various executive positions at Applied Materials, Inc. during his 17year tenure there, including as Group Vice President of Global Operations and Planning. Mr. Newberry has also served as a member of the board of directors of Splunk Inc., a software platform company for realtime operational intelligence, since January 2013, where he chairs the compensation committee. Mr. Newberry previously served on the board of directors of Nanometrics Incorporated, a provider of process control metrology and inspection systems from May 2011 to May 2015, where he served as a chair of the compensation committee and member of the nominating and governance committee Amkor Technology, Inc., a provider of outsourced semiconductor packaging assembly and test services, from March 2009 to May 2011, where he served as a member of the compensation committee Nextest Systems Corporationrationration, a developer of automated test equipment systems for the semiconductor industry, from 2000 to 2008, where he served as a member of the audit, compensation and nominating and corporate governance committees and Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International, or SEMI, a global semiconductor equipment trade association, from July 2004 to July 2014 since 2012.
