Mr. Bernardo Vargas Gibsone serves Chief Executive Officer of Interconexion Electrica S.A. E.S.P since 2016. Prior to this, he was Chairman of the Board at the Company from July 1, 2015. He served as Independent Director of Interconexion Electrica S.A. E.S.P. from April 1, 2012 till March 31, 2016. He was Founding Partner of Nogal since 2001. He has experience in Mergers and Acquisitions and worked at Manuelita, Pantaleon, Unialco, CVCICitibank, Valores Bavaria and Grupo Carvajal. Before founding Nogal, he was Chairman of ING Barrings in Colombia, where he was also responsible for the areas of Investment Banking and Corporationrationrate Banking. He joined Baring Securities in 1994 as Director of the Andean Region and subsequently was appointed as Chairman and CEO of Barings and ING Colombia in January 1997. In the past, he was Founding Chairman of Proexport Colombia and Fiducoldex, as well as Counsel to the Minister of Foreign Trade and Director of the Department of International Reserves and Foreign Financing of Banco de la Republica. Moreover, he was Board Member of Spectrum, Amarilo, Asociacion Tejido Humano, Fundacion Best Buddies, Lumni and Dynamo. He graduated in Economics from Universidad de Los Andes and holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Columbia University. since 2016.
