Mr. John F. Sandner is Independent Director of Company. Mr. Sandner was a member of CME for more than 40 years. He also served as our Special Policy Advisor from 1998 to 2005 and as Chairman of our board for 13 years. Previously, Mr. Sandner served as Chairman of ETrade Futures, LLC from 2003 through 2013 and as President and CEO of RBH Financial Services, L.P., a futures commission merchant and one of our former clearing firms, from 1985 to 2003. Mr. Sandner currently serves on the board of the National Futures Association and as a Vice Chairman of the CME Group Foundation. since 2016.

CME Group Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the CME's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: CME inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of CME. The board's role is to monitor CME's management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served.
