Mr. Stephen A. Schwarzman is a Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, Founder Chairman of the General Partner of the Company. Mr. Schwarzman was elected Chairman of the board of directors of our general partner effective March 20, 2007. He also sits on the firms Management Committee. Mr. Schwarzman is a founder of Blackstone and was involved in all phases of the firms development since its founding in 1985. Mr. Schwarzman began his career at Lehman Brothers, where he was elected Managing Director in 1978. He was engaged principally in the firms mergers and acquisitions business from 1977 to 1984, and served as Chairman of the firms Mergers Acquisitions Committee in 1983 and 1984. Mr. Schwarzman is an active philanthropist with a history of supporting education and schools. Whether in business or in philanthropy, he has always attempted to tackle big problems and find transformative solutions. In 2015, Mr. Schwarzman donated 150 million to Yale University to establish the Schwarzman Center, a firstofitskind campus center in Yales historic Commons building. In 2013, he founded an international scholarship program, Schwarzman Scholars, at Tsinghua University in Beijing to educate future leaders about China. At 500 million, the program is modeled on the Rhodes Scholarship and is the single largest philanthropic effort in Chinas history coming largely from international donors. Mr. Schwarzman currently maintains his position as CoChair of the Board of Trustees of Schwarzman Scholars. In 2007, Mr. Schwarzman donated 100 million to the New York Public Library on whose board he serves. Mr. Schwarzman is a member of The Council on Foreign Relations, The Business Council, The Business Roundtable, and The International Business Council of the World Economic Forum.

Schwarzman holds a BA from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He has served as an adjunct professor at the Yale School of Management and on the Harvard Business School Board of Dean?s Advisors. In 2012, he was awarded an Honorary Degree from Quinnipiac University.
