Mr. Cheng William is the Chief Executive Officer Restaurant Division of Breadtalk Group Ltd. He was instrumental in the setting up of Din Tai Fung restaurants at Paragon and Junction 8. On 1 January 2005, he was promoted to his current position, where he is responsible for the operations and profitability of the restaurants. William was the Manager of Taster Food from March 2003 to December 2004. From August 2002 to February 2003, he was a Branch Manager of BreadTalk Pte Ltd. Before joining the Company, William was a Branch Manager of Topwin Singapore Pte Ltd, where he assisted the Managing Director in the daily operations of three food courts. In 1999, William was tasked with a special project to develop unique Asian cuisine dishes aimed to inject a different flavour into the food court. The signature dishes were singlehandedly created by William after a year of research and development, inclusive of a threemonth overseas stint. William has won numerous culinary awards in events organised by the Food Hotel Asia . In 1996, he was Singapores representative to the Philippines Chefs on Parade competition where he garnered the Grand Champion award. In 1997, William led a team of six members to Canada to participate in the Taste Of Canada competition. His team was the Grand Champion in the Hot Cooking category and overall First Runner Up for the entire event. William, on his own, garnered a Gold Medal in the individual cooking category. since 2010.
